Regzen Mobile Apps

User Manual

The Regzen mobile app is available for iOS and Android users, and it’s entirely free to download and use.
If you are new to the app please visit the “Getting Started with Regzen” page.

1. Unlocking the app

For the best user experience, it is recommended to use your biometrics. Let’s see how to set it up and use it.

Face ID Unlock

To start using this feature on your iOS device please see Enable biometrics section first.

Once you’ve enabled your Face ID, every time you open the app you’ll need to unlock it by confirming your face. Alternatively, you can choose to cancel the Face ID authentication and unlock the app with your account password.

If you fail to unlock the app with your Face ID five times in a row, you’ll be forced to use your account password. If you fail to unlock the app with your password five times in a row, you’ll be temporarily suspended from accessing your account for security reasons.

Once you’ve enabled Fingerprint Unlock, every time you open the app you’ll need to unlock it by confirming your fingerprint. Alternatively, you can choose to cancel the Fingerprint authentication and unlock the app with your account password.

If you fail to unlock the app with your fingerprint five times in a row, you’ll be forced to use your account password. If you fail to unlock the app with your password five times in a row, you’ll be temporarily suspended from accessing your account for security reasons.

Password unlock is set by default, in case you don’t want to use your biometrics.

Every time you open the app you’ll need to unlock it by entering your password.

2. Drawer

The App Drawer shows the list of all email accounts that you’ve linked to your Regzen account, along with your account email. To open the drawer, tap the avatar or the active email account (e.g. [email protected]) from the Logins screen, or swipe from the left edge.

You can add an unlimited number of (linked) emails by tapping “Add another email”.

To manage all your linked emails tap “Manage emails”. You can then edit the email labels, add notes, or unlink emails.

3. Logins

Logins Tab shows a list of your login items. When you sign in on a website with Regzen, a login item will show up. When tapped, the login item expands and shows logs – details about your logins such as Browser and OS, IP address, Location, and Date/Time.

The three dots on the right side of the login item open the menu. Within the menu you can choose to Visit the website, Share the login item, Expand/Collapse the item, and Remove the item.

Sharing Login Items (Shared items)

Tapping “Share” opens up a modal you can use to share the login item with other Regzen users. Simply enter an email address and the request to share the item will be sent. Once the other Regzen user accepts the request, the login item will be shared (yellow log), and he/she will be able to sign in to a website using your shared credentials. On the shared login item a new icon (Shared) will appear, so you know which items you’ve shared with others.
Note that you are in complete control of your shared logins, and you can revoke access at any time. Also, other users cannot reshare your shared items.

Removing Login Items

Tapping “Remove” from the item menu will remove the entire login item from your Regzen account. This means that automatically all logs will be removed, access to shared items will be revoked, and the “Sign-in Form Protection” will be removed (you’ll have to switch back to using a username and password to sign in to that website/service again).

Note that removing a website from Regzen doesn’t mean that your account on that website will be removed/cancelled/deleted.

4. Trusted Websites

Trusted Websites tab opens the screen with a list of websites and services connected with Regzen. Tapping an item opens a direct link to the connected website.

The end of the list shows the “More Websites” item. This item links to the “Wish List” where you can add your favorite websites that you’d like to be connected with Regzen.

5. QR Scanner

If you want to sign in on a website using a desktop browser, you’ll need to click on the “Sign in with Regzen” button which will link you to a QR Code. First open the QR Scanner from the mobile app. Then use it to scan the QR code from the website and continue to the Authorization Screen.

Note that every time a QR Code is being scanned, the Regzen anti-phishing algorithm works in the background and checks if there are any threats. In cases where the algorithm discovers a potential threat, the Warning screen will show up and protect you from the attack.

6. Authorization

Mobile Browser Flow

Once you tap the “Sign in with Regzen” button, you’ll be prompted to continue to the Regzen app. Unlock the app and the “Authorization Screen” will pop up. After you’ve checked the request details (OS, IP address, Location and Date/Time), choose an email to approve the authorization and tap “Approve” to Sign in, or “Deny” to cancel the request.

Once you click on the “Sign in with Regzen” button, a QR Code will be generated. Open and unlock the Regzen mobile app, tap the QR Scanner button and scan the QR Code. When the “Authorization Screen” pops up, check the request details, choose an email to approve the authorization and tap “Approve” to Sign in, or “Deny” to cancel the request.

RECOMMENDED: For desktop authorization, it is recommended to use the Regzen Chrome Extension.

7. Notifications

Notification Items

Tapping the Notification tab opens the screen with all your notifications.
Notification items either link to a settings screen, or offer “Accept” / “Deny” options for specific requests.

8. Settings

The Settings tab opens the screen where you can set up your account additionally and control the app features:

NOTE: The Exclamation Icons remind you that there are some recommended Security/Recovery features you haven’t used yet.

8.1 Account Settings

The “Account Settings” screen let’s you have control over your account and manage settings:

Go to Settings > Account to see all the features and options.

8.1.1. Password

To successfully change your Regzen account password, first enter your current password, then enter new password and confirm it, and tap “Save Changes”.

8.1.2. Security Code

To successfully change your Regzen account Security Code, first tap the “eye” icon to show the code. Tap “Regenerate Code” to get a new code and then save it. Alternatively, you can enter your own code combination of 32 characters.

NOTE: Once you save a new Security Code, you’ll get a new Security Kit. Make sure you save it somewhere safe.

8.1.3. Security Kit

Every Regzen account has its own unique Security Kit that includes an account email, security code, and blank space for password. We strongly advise you to save your Security Kit somewhere safe so you can use it to manually log in to your account (when needed):

1. Print it out (and/or save it on a portable/hard drive or upload it to your personal cloud storage).
2. Add your account password below (if you need to).
3. Keep the kit in a secure place where you can find it.

8.1.4. Security Email

The Security Email ensures you receive security emails to your secondary email address instead of you account email address.  This way your Regzen account is protected in case someone gets access to you email account, since any security notification will be send to the Security Email. What’s more, if you ever need to reset your Regzen account you’ll be allowed to do it only if you have added a Security Email.

We highly suggest you use a Security Email and add another level of protection to your Regzen account.

8.1.5. Linked Emails

“Linked Emails” feature allow you to link an unlimited number of email accounts to your Regzen account. There are no restrictions in terms of email providers you can use, as long as your email accounts are valid and active.

NOTE: Regzen uses email validation tools that prevent signing up with temporary, fake, spam, site-wide or role emails.

8.1.6. Log Out

To log out from your Regzen account, simply tap the “Log Out” button and confirm. Logging out does not remove/delete any of data from your account.

NOTE: Make sure you have the Security Kit saved, or another device where you’re already logged in, to be able to log back in again.

8.2. Trusted Devices

Use this screen to control and manage your “Trusted Devices”.

Adding Trusted Devices

On a new device you want to add, open the Regzen app and tap the “Log In” button. The QR Code will show up.

On a device you’re already logged in, open the Regzen app and go to Settings > Trusted Devices. Tap the “Add Trusted Device” button, scan the QR Code from the new device you want to add, and “Approve” it.

NOTE: You can add an unlimited number of Trusted Devices.

Managing Trusted Devices

Tapping a device item will open a log that includes the information about the Country, IP address, Date and Time of the last access to that device.

To untrust a device and remove access to your Regzen account, open the “Three Dots” menu in the right corner and tap “Untrust”.

8.3. Trusted Friends

The “Trusted Friends” feature is one of the Account Recovery features and is highly suggested to use it. The “exclamation” icons will remind you to add more friends whenever there are less than two trusted friends connected to your account.

To add a trusted friend simply enter your friend’s email address (and optionally add the name) and tap “Send Request”. Once your friend accepts the request you’ll be mutually connected. This means that you’ll be able to Recover each other’s Regzen account.

Within the “Recovery Permissions” section you can control which permissions you want to grant to your trusted friends.

There are two recovery options to choose:

  1. In-app Recovery – If you’ve enabled biometrics and you want to reset your forgotten password, ask your friend to start an In-app recovery. You’ll receive a notification on your mobile device. Tap on it and start a recovery. You’ll be offered to create your new password. Once you’ve done this, you’ll get a new Security Code, and a new Security Kit will pop up. Please save it somewhere safe.
  2. Email Recovery – If you can’t access your Regzen account in any way, ask your friend to start an Email recovery. You’ll receive an email with a recovery link. Open the link and start a recovery. You’ll create a new password, get a new Security Code, and a new Security Kit will pop up. Please save it somewhere safe.

NOTE: Once a recovery is started, you must complete all the steps without leaving the app, otherwise you’ll have to start all over with a new recovery link from your trusted friend.

8.4. Security

The “Security” screen lets you Enable/Disable biometrics (Face ID or Touch ID / Fingerprint depending on your device).

To Enable/Disable biometrics open the app and go to Settings > Security.

8.5. Wish List

We want to make sure you can use Regzen on all your favorite websites. Help us focus on adding websites you’d like to be available first. We’ll use your wish list to reach these websites faster. Your email address won’t be shared.

You can add as many websites / services as you wish. Simply enter the website URLs (coma separated), i.e. example.com, example2.com, …

To open the Wish List, unlock your app and go to Settings > Wish List.
